Grants and Funding for Childcare settings.
Below is a list of Grants available for childcare settings through the Children’s Partnership.
Sustainability grants
Sustainability grants may be allocated to all registered settings who are at severe risk of closure, or a setting that is expanding their provision to increase childcare places.
Who can apply?
Childcare settings offering Full Day Care, Sessional Care, Out of School Care / Holiday care and Childminding services that have already achieved registration with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW).
Under 8’s grant
To help establish expand or develop a non profit making voluntary run childcare provision / club e.g. Parent and Toddler groups, Beavers, etc.

Playscheme grants
This grant is available to Playsheme providers during the summer holidays.
Start up grants
This grant is available to support childcare providers with start up costs associated with establishing NEW Full Day Care, Sessional Care, Out of School Club Care, or Holiday Care in order to expand the range of childcare available across Carmarthenshire, to enable parents/carers to access childcare to meet their individual needs and circumstances.
The grant will be available in the form of revenue funding to support running costs associated with establishing new provision. For example, staffing costs, costs associated with promotion and publicity, equipment and premises.
Who can apply?
Any new group or individual setting providing Full Day Care, Sessional Care, Out of School Club Care, or Holiday Care who have recently achieved registration with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW), or are in the process of registering, and have been allocated a named CSSIW inspector.

Childminder Start up grants (Quality Start pack)
Available to all new childminders that have attended a CSSIW Briefing Session and completed the NCMA’s pre registration course.
The Childminders must be at the latter stages of registration before they can apply.
The grant includes:-
(Introduction to Childminding Practice) course fees, and the costs associated with purchasing a ‘Quality Start’ pack for all new registered childminders which includes:
- 12 months’ NCMA membership
- 12 months’ NCMA public liability insurance
- Free legal representation
- NCMA Accounts book/Attendance register/accident, incident and medication record folder
- Fire blanket
